The Early Days
Taylor Swift began her singing early on as a child, singing and performing through various local theaters and outlooks. She begun her big break at 14 after moving to Nashville Tennessee and signing with Sony Records. She released several breakout hits such as "Tim McGraw," and then her debut album "Fearless." After the release of this album, it led to multiple opportunities to open for various country music stars' concerts. These early opportunities would build and shape Swifts' love for performing and her vision for performing live.
The Eras Tour
Taylor Swift continued her rise in fame having numerous popular songs and albums. Her fame and popularity truly showed itself when it came to her Eras tour which began in March 2023 and featured songs from any Swift album. The tour featured almost 150 shows, hosted 10.1 million people and brought in about 2.1 billion dollars.

ReplyDeleteGreat post! Taylor Swift was a reoccurring artist in my playlist, and listening to the music you have provided evokes numerous memories. She is such an amazing artist, and it is no surprise that she still remains as one of the greatest pop-stars in our generation. There are other artists who eventually lost their popularity, but Taylor Swift manages to keep her status. One possible reason may be her versatility, encompassing a multitude of genres. Or, her personal connection with fans. Regardless, she is an amazing singer with heartfelt music.
Your blogpost was great to read! Though, I would like to know your personal connection and the music elements you would emphasize. I definitely think lyrics and dynamics would be great to start off with, as her lyrical interpretation evokes emotions. In "You Belong with Me," there's strong emphasis with dynamics where her voice goes soft, then gets louder to show power that complements the lyrics.

Growing up, I would have to say I was a little bit of a Swifty. Maybe it was my moms influence and my little sisters, but she seemed to be a consistent creator of good music. To see the contrast in the performances is also pretty interesting to see. You can tell she developed the stage presence well throughout her career. Do you think her personal connection with fans is the reason her performances are so popular? Not saying her music isn't also, but the rave for Taylor Swift concerts seems to obliterate her competition from other well known and great performers, despite not entirely providing anything more "amusing" to the audience.
